I just picked up a new SeaQuest Balance BC and had the AirSource 3 added as well.
My question/issue came when I was working OOA drills and orally inflating the BC. When I would go and push the exhaust button and exhale into the mouthpiece to orally inflate it most of the air I was exhaling would just go out the exhaust port of the regulator instead of into the bladder. It would inflate but it took ALOT of breaths to fill it up and as again about half my air was going out the exhaust port. I pretty much had to use the palm of my hand to cover the regulator exhaust port and then all of my exhaled air would go into the bladder.
Is this typical? one instructor said it was normal and another instructor said it shouldnt do that (air escaping reg port)
