My daughter really enjoys scuba photography. While still gaining experience with the UW photography, she wants to use her NikonP2 on our upcoming trip to Grand Cayman.

Accordingly any pointers on:

* Which is the best UW case to use for the P2 ?

* Which is the best strobe to use ?

Thanks for any advise :D

Your only choice is the Fantasea housing:

They are notorious for not having buttons to control all of the camera functions. Make sure you have access to all of the controls that are important to you. If Fantasea were my only choice....I would get a new camera :-).

I personally would only use (& recommend) Inon, Ikelite or Sea & Sea strobes. With strobes especially, you get what you pay for (IMHO). Most of these strobes will grow with you once you upgrade.

HTH,
Dave

Here's a link to the Fantasea Page that lists the controls:
P2/P3 Housing

I'd agree with the above comments, make sure it'll work out for her, but with such a simple P&S camera you don't always need all the controls.

Cost is very reasonable and I have some great new packages with housing, strobe arm and tray on my site.

PM or email me for more info.

Jack

That narrows it down fast. Thanks for the info, I will definitely check out these referrals.

Thanks to all.

Fantasea Case is not the only choice. Ikelite has a P1/P2 case and it has access to all the controls.

http://ikelite.com/web_pages/cpp1.html Also the P2 and the P3 are different. The mode dial on the top is in a different location, thus a P3 case will not work unless you do not want to be able to change modes while diving..
