Hi All,

i'm living in Australia and am looking for some advice on where to purchase a fisheye fix S90 housing and lenses (possibly UWL100 + Dome but undecided at the moment).

does anyone in Oz know of any dealers for fisheye products? If not then where is best to get them from?

Happy bubbles!

Phil

Phil,

I wish I could point you to somewhere in Oz, but I don't have a clue. However, I've purchased all my underwater photo toys at Reef Photo (Reef Photo & Video!, The Underwater Photo Pros) in the good old USA, and I know they carry what you're looking for.

If you don't have any luck in you're neck of the woods, reach out to Reef Photo, because they're friendly, knowledgeable, and carry anything you need, and might even be able to point you in the right direction for local advice/service.

You may also want to contact Yuzo in Japan. If he doesn't have it he may be able to get it for you. He is the owner of:

I actually found the uwphotoshop I bought my FIX S90 housing from on ebay! Noted that he was in the Philippines where I am and managed to go to his shop and talk to the owner. The operation is quite legit and I got to look and play with the unit and accessories before making up my mind. I got the unit for a good price and I did not have to wait for shipping.

Here is a link

eBay.ph: Fisheye FIX for Canon S90 Digital Camera Camera (item 180475213591 end time May 30, 2010 01:49:17 PHT)

Owner actually has so much more stuff in his shop. He let me play around with the unit and mounted the different adapters so I can check them out with the lenses I wanted.

Thanks for all the info guys! i went to Fisheye-jp and they sent me a link to a dealer in Oz...

Which setup did you end up going for as far as lens mounts go?

And does anyone have the link to the thread where someone did some extensive testing on this housing with a few different lenses?
Ta!

have not decided on the mount yet. Have decided on the Inon UFL165AD Lens though. It seems to be the best performing light weight lens available for this set-up.

So far, from what I have gathered online, there seems to be two ways to get this lens on the FIX s90.

The FIX 28AD adapter seems the most direct way, though there are some reports of vignetting. This mount lets one use the Inon UCL165AD lens on the same dive swappable with the UFL165AD.

The other way, that has been reported to have less vignetting, is to buy the FIX 67mm adapter + a 10 Bar 67mm to AD adapter. This also lets you swap lenses on the same dive.

I think a major consideration would be if one already has existing lenses that may be adapted to use with the FIX S90.

I have no lenses yet so I just have to choose which way to go. I will probably go back to the shop and "play" with the FIX 28AD mount and the UFL165AD and see if there really are any unsurmountable issues with vignetting.
