Hello All:
First post here. I will be in San Pedro Belize in a couple weeks diving with a popular Padi Shop which has a package including hotel at the waterfront shop.
Is anyone familiar with PADI eLearning credits at Resorts Dive Shops? I have just completed the online portion of Advanced Open Water and I am hoping that I can negotiate some credit into my dive package (already paid) to enable my Advanced Open Water Dives to occur and be credited for them, hopefully without having to pay the full price for training on site. I know that this would require an Instructor accompanying me on the 5 required dives.
The information I have been receiving suggests that they don't really care about the eLearning credit and want you to pay full price for the AOW course.
Is anyone experienced doing this? I would assume Open Water eLearning Credit would also apply, for those that have done it that way, or even those who have taken the classroom-based courses at home and the dives at their vacation resort.
I understand that AOW eLearning has only been offered since December 15.
I will also be at Cozumel on the second week of the trip, with a similar dive hotel package. Both locations are Gold Palm 5 Star Resort facilities.
I look forward to advice from you folks on the Board.
Regards...FarmBoy888
