Advanced Diving in Cairns

I am an OWSI studying abroad in Australia for the semester and in a few weeks I am flying up to Cairns for a long weekend. I will be able to dive Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Thus I'm thinking my best option would be to dive with a 3 day/ 2 night live-aboard. I'm on a pretty tight budget so economy is key, but I'm willing to pay more for a great diving experience, I just don't need frills in terms of boat accommodations/meals.

I want to avoid cattle boats and over-dived locations at all costs, any advice on operators would be much appreciated.

Taka would be your best option! Sensational diving, and great value for money!

I've tried the much cheaper options on the outer reefs. There is a reason they're cheap, the diving is seecond rate (and so is the service but thats probably not an issue for you).
