Would something like this do?

Really depends on your intended use, it'll solve gear issues but it may not be beefy enough to remove rusted porthole nuts.

That's good enough for. By the way, SEARS also carries bigger versions of this unit for those interested.

Thanks for the link. That might be a better choice. The one thing I don't like about it is that I can't see any place to tie a boltsnap to. Do one know what material the o-ring pick is made of?

I have no idea. Hopefully brass, but I suspect it's probably some grade of stainless. (Titanium would be nice, but very pricey...) I've ordered one but it has yet to arrive. When it does, I'll either toss it in the "Save-A-Dive" kit, or in my boat bag. I'm sure it's small enough to fit in a BC pocket...

If you still want an adjustable wrench, this set would be a better choice. All the tools are completely SS. Look closely at the Sear wrench description, only the thumb screw is SS, the rest is not. It would rust like crazy if you use it in saltwater.

Thanks for the link. I don't need the long nose tool or pliers though, and I'd prefer to have a wrench with a hole at the end to tie a bolt snap to so I can clip it in my thigh pocket. Also 6" wrench is long enough for my purpoes. Anyone have any further suggestions?

I know I've seen brass adjustable wrenches around over the years, usually near a bottle of flamable gas. I did a quick google search for 'non-sparking adjustable wrench' and came up with a few, but they were really expensive.

I don't know the purity of the brass, or even if they are all brass, though. I'll bet that the thunb screw and the pin that hold it are probably steel and would rust.

Here's one on eBay.

Just thought it would give you another direction to investigate.
