I dove the Adams River in the Shuswap area to observe the spawning sockeye salmon this year to become familiar with the site for next years run. I'm working on a more descriptive video (which I'll also post soon) but put together this music mix in the mean time:

Here's the informational version:

Awesome! I'm genuine jealous right now!

I'm going to try to get some northern pike photos tomorrow. We'll see how that turns out. Probably not as beautiful as your video though.

Nice job Dale.

I'm surprised you didn't get into the shallow sections of the river to get some footage. I attended a lecture once where the presenter had waded into the river in a dry suit and he got some pretty good photos as a result.

I didn't because I had read that divers are not allowed in the river portion (so as not to disturb the spawning beds). Otherwise, that would be an option. What I would do is tie an anchor line on shore that trailed right through the rivers outflow, so that I could tie in and fly right in the current amongst the salmon as they school to shoot upstream.

Very cool Dale... I just did this dive the weekend after.. You are correct on not being allowed to dive the river itself

If you are ever back up in this area let me know, always looking for new divers to dive with
