Hi Guys
New to the forum. My son is PADI OWD qualified and wants to do his Advanced or Jnr Advanced on our holiday to Cuba. Can not do a PADI obviously but will the ACUC be recognized if we dive else where. EG Egypt, Kenya and other places in the Caribean.
We are worried it may be a waste of money but want to keep him interested and enthusiastic about diving.
We are only holiday divers but do love it!!!!

Any advice greatfully rec'd.
Thinking of using Barracuda in Varadero. What do you think?????

Thanks Guys

Can't wait for the 6 Nations!!!!
C'mon the BOYOS

ACUC is a member of RSTC. His card should be every bit as recognized as a PADI card.

DCBC is correct.

You mentioned that he obviously could not do PADI Jr.Advanced... why not?

I will chime in my two bits, I've certainly never had a problem with ACUC being recognized. Occasionally my Ice Diver card gets a few looks, but otherwise all good :D
The problem with getting a PADI cert in Cuba has something to do with a US boycott of the place, although apparently there are ways around it

Hmmm, I never even considered that. I learn something everyday. I would have thought that PADI could establish a presence in Cuba by not going through PADI Americas.

Hey Fullback, I teach loads of kids. Pay for my trip to Cuba, and I'll freelance your son's PADI Jr. Advanced course!

Thanks form the info guys.
Will go ahead and get it booked.
Sorry otterdive the suitcases will be full otherwise you could stow away!!!

Appreciate the feed back.
By the way - Great site this.

Amazing what you can find out when you ask the right people.
