On my day boat everyone off loads their gear into a bin (60cm by 50cm by 60cm) that slides under their suit up area on the benches that run down sides of the cockpit, BC and reg go on their first tank which is in a bracket on the bench, suits (mostly dry) hang on a rack beside the door to the cabin until needed, then the bags and boxes are stored below. The deck between the benches in 2 m wide and its big trouble to clutter it up. Thems the rule live with em or dive elsewhere.
