So I just got my new A85 and WP-DC30 housing today. Do most of you use the supplied LCD hood? Any problems with it staying on? I don't like having an extra strap on their if I can avoid it but I'm guessing it could fall off pretty easily. But the camera and housing both look great. Test shots I've done with the camera are impressive. Can't wait to use it next weekend.

Thanks,

Andy

Took mine out Saturday and used the hood. It seemed to keep the glare off the screen and it never did fall off. I think I'll keep using it. It didn't seem to be a problem to me. I think it will just be a personal preference. Try it and see what you think and if you don't like it then you'll know for sure.

Neither my A7- nor A20 had a hood and I didn't encounter too many conditions where it was a problem.

If you have one, I would use it, but if it really annoys you, take it off. A quick test is to go outside on a really bright day and see if you can use the viewfinder effectively.

Congrats on the new gear...when do you get to splash around?

Thanks. I'm headed to Florida on Wed. and will be diving in Key Largo over the weekend. I may try to dive in Naples Thursday or Friday as well.

I'll play around with it a bit. I'm a photographer by trade and so far I'm pretty impressed by this little camera.
