Does anyone out there know how to turn off the pre-flash on the A570 IS? I have heard it is possible to do but dont know how. I would like to use my old film strobe with this camera if I can. Any help would be great!

Go to the flash setting (in the menu). Select slave. In the A570 you can choose the power level. This is what I do with my old Olympus SP-310.
As for the film strobe, you will need an adapter for the strobe cord. Heinrichs-Weikamp makes an optical converter for about $130. Reef Photo in Florida sells them.
