For anyone who has abit of time please feel free to browse my little project.

I have been trying to identify most of the things i see everyday underwater for my customers, to help me i created a website that can be accessed on line but was really an offline library for myself.

I have tried to identify as many things as i can, but a lot still elude me, especially the nudis!

So for those who like there area's

Nudis, Flatworms - Worms and Slugs

Sea Cucumbers - Sea Cucumbers

Starfish and other Echinoderms - Bottom Dwellers

Lobsters and other Crusties - Crabs, Lobsters and Relatives

These last two i have been hopeless at , feel free to point me a decent reference and ill do it myself!

Anemones - Jellies and Anemones

Octopus - Squid, Cuttlefish and Octopus

Cheers guys

Hi Zeke,

Can help you with the nudis

You need to get yourself a copy of Neville Coleman's Nudibranch Encyclopaedia.

The "Swallow Tail" nudibranch is Chelidonura inorata

The one you mention the local name of "Solar Nudibranch" is possibly Glossodoris sp, due to wavy mantle, certainly of Chromodoridae family

Fourth one down Left hand side is probably Phyllidiopsis shireenae

Fourth down Right hand side is Phyllidia ocellata

Fourth down Middle, looks like a variant of P. elegans

Need to check the books for the others, but have a look at nudipixel.com lots of information there.

Thanks for the link will check it out. Those white/black ones are proving hard to judge due to the such small differences!!! Was just giving up and sticking them all under Phyllidia Sp on the final version!

Your solar nudibranch is Ardeadoris egretta Chromodorididae family

Hey - when I linked to your sea cucumber site - there was a pop up and my virus detector picked it up as a virus - watch out everyone!

Hmm pop ups are due to my host provider, I havent seen any but i have pop ups blocked as standard. Ill see if i can switch hoster to a non pop up.
