Hello to everyone, Doctor Si here, a diver with about 40 dives experience in Australia and Thailand. I last had the opportunity to go out a couple of years ago so things are little rusty but I have 3 1/2 weeks free in October and am after some recommendations for locations for a bit of diving combined with a bit of something else. I wondered about Egypt, Costa Rica or maybe Borneo, any suggestions?

Welcome to ScubaBoard! :happywave

I recommend taking a look through each of the forums in our Scuba Diving Vacation & Destinations part of the board. You might also want to look through some of the forums in our Scubaboard Clubs part of the board.

You'll get the best and most pertinent recommendations by splitting up your questions, so that you are asking about each destination in its appropriate forum. Not everyone on the board regularly checks the Introductions and Greets forum, so you may be missing quite a bit of valuable advice if this is the only place you ask about possible destinations.

Don't forget to fill out your profile and dive info, so that we can add context to your future posts. Also, once we know where you are geographically, you may find that you'll have a whole bunch of new dive buddies to choose from locally.

Dive safe!

Christian

P.S. Due to the high volume of new posts in the Introductions and Greets forum, it's not always possible to keep up with all the new posts here. So, please help me out and send me a PM if you post anything you want me to read or repsond to in this forum.

Hi there! My name is Kayla, and I have been diving for over two years now! I think that you will be able to learn a lot here at ScubaBoard, and hopefully you will be able to post about some of your experiences as well. If you have any questions, please PM me. Otherwise, I hope to get to know you better around the boards!

Safe diving!

Egypt, Jordan, and Israel are good dive destinations during the fall, spring, or summer months of the northern hemisphere. Also, so is Athens Greece and Cypress.

Costa Rica, like the rest of the Caribbean, is on the hurricane track at the moment, in case you had not noticed.

For the next few months it is also a good time to dive at Fiji as well, or any of the tropical islands of the South Pacific.

If you really want to spend money, go to Tahiti. Lots of beautiful topless French women there as well on the beaches. Some friends of mine just returned, and they said the diving in Tahiti is astounding. As is the nightlife.

Welcome to the board!
