Thank you to all the divers who spent their military careers underwater, many of whom did not survive the wars in which they fought.

I especially thank the unsung heroes who breathed mud and gave their lives in the Mekong Delta region in order for their buddies' patrol boats to have safer river passage. One of you was my brother Rick. We took our first scuba lessons together at the YMCA in 1967, and I understood why you just had to be a scuba soldier, but I will miss you forever.

Thanks too to the Navy divers whose bravery and experimentation cost lives yet led to today's safe scuba equipment and diving practices. What an incredible gift we received as a result.

Thank you one and all.
