The windmill bamboo worm, Praxillura maculata.

We find these on silty bottoms around the Palos Verdes Peninsula. The little worm moves surprisingly quickly, consuming material caught in its mucous net. Sometimes, opportunistic caprellid amphipods (skeleton shrimp) can be seen hanging off the spokes.
