I asked a question on my introduction and greeting to the board and was advised I might get more info here. My wife and I are newly weds and were certified prior to our honeymoon. We fell in love with it in Cozumel. We have been determining when we can get back in the water. We want to as soon as possible but funds are severly limited due to wedding costs and such. We became advanced certified in Coz but are still newbies. I am not sure there is anything particular we would like to see or experience since we have not experienced anything but Vortex Springs in Florida and Coz. (This is not to say we have not seen some magnicent things already underwater. I hope to post pics soon) We have not ruled out anything as far as where we would go or what accomadations we would need. I do not think we would be ready for a Blackbeards type liveaboard. We would want private accomadations although we are not used to or wanting 5 star. Thanks.

Easy. . .go back to Cozumel. Best bang for the buck in diving. By the way, welcome to Scubabaord!

There are loads of places to dive in the Caribbean, Central America, and Hawaii that can be done on a modest budget. First you need to target a few destinations, and then you can plan from there! To get an idea of the possibilities, I recommend subscribing to one or two scuba diving magazines (or you can research on their websites -- but I like getting the magazines each month, with all the cool pictures of places I've been or still aspire to visit). Once you begin planning, remember that the resorts are not necessarily the cheapest way to go, and do research on condo rentals and other a-la-carte options. Have fun!

I appreciate all who have helped out. I am anxious to get wet again and hopeful will have a plan soon. Continued comments would be welcomed.

I am thinking about the Ft. Lauderdale-WPB area. It's not that far, and there are hotels for all budget ranges.

yeah- as kelpmermaid suggests, think about florida. Either SE coast- or the upper keys. You can fly fairly cheaply to Miami, rent a car and drive down (or up). can be reasonably priced if you want it to be- and theres soem shorediving on the SE coast.
