I thought my Grunt question was easy but I can see there is always room for debate. So what is this, guy, I was told it was a Ghost Fish but my search on the web showed me very different pictures than this guy. I saw ones like this off of Cuba.

Any ideas? Thanks in Advance.

I believe it's a Permit. The Pompano has a steeper forehead & fins are not dark.

Yeah, ditto on west atlantic "permit", T. falcatus.

The Humann reef fish book descriptions are a little misleading as only noting dark margins on the tips of the dorsal fin, but fishbase has both photos and and descriptors for dark margins throughout much of the dorsal fin.
