Sorry you missed the lionfish. They are such an evasive, err I mean invasive fish. :p
 
hahaha - yeah, that was pitiful on the lion. done the same thing - their heads are way harder than you'd think. I sharpen my 6 pointer before each outing now and stretch that band as much as absolutely possible - still bounce off on occasion. Nice bunch of hogs though - size limit is being upped to 14" here in FL - not that we get to see that many of decent size anyways.
 
I should have just put a shaft in it, but got frustrated with it embarrassing me and decided to move on. Hopefully I injured it and it died.

I know your side of the state needs the new regs, but over here we have a very healthy hog population. Probably due in large part to our reduced viz and depths. I would be okay with reducing the bag limit over here to say 3, but a size limit of 14" would then require us to dive in much deeper water. Which then may have a more detrimental effect since divers would then start targeting the bigger fish that are more likely to be breeders that keep the fishery sustainable. I don't know. I just hope for some common sense to be used on that species over here for us rec. guys.
