Thanks for the photos, they bring back great memories for me. One of my most memorable dives was on the Duane in May '98. My brother was living in Marathon at the time and I would make a couple of trips a year down (I was living in North Carolina at the time) to the Keys.

My brother passed away in November of '98 and our dive on the Duane was one of the last (the very last was at Looe Key) we made together. It was magical day, the viz was fantastic and we could see the Duane from the time we put our heads under water at the surface.

There were 3 divers left on the ship as we made our ascent. As we ascended up the mooring line their bubbles were quite amazing as they grew larger against the beautiful blue background. It was quite surrealistic (I thought this that day, not just in retrospection after my brothers death).

As I said, it was one of the top 2-3 moments in my diving life.

Again thanks for sharing your photos and stirring up fond memories.

Thanks for taking the time to post the pics. My dive buddy yesterday brought his camcorder with some footage of his recent visit to the "Duane" and it looks like an incredible time. Got to get down there and get out of these quarries...

Best Regards
Don Costanza
