Things are starting to get interesting.
A couple of days ago we had a loaded log truck try and join the Olympic Figure Skating Team. I dont think he made it but the swim team is taking a good look at him.
About half way down CdA Lake he took it swimming. Someone was riding on his shoulders as he got himself out and to shore. He just might be a bit chilly for a while as we are in the single digits and the water is still liquid but getting close to walking temps.
Then tonight I respond to an accident on Hayden Lake. What else but a 4X4 misses a corner on the ice and takes a trip down the roughly 60-degree bank. He comes to rest about a hundred feet down the bank when his left front fender imbeds itself into a large evergreen tree.
The vehicles right headlight is pointed right at the ice covered surface of the lake, which was within 30. Less than a foot to the right and we would have had a team call-out.
Its not the first time we have had a call at that corner.
Then the shift Sgt. Has to run off at the mouth and say we will be swimming before the end of the week. Easy for him to say, hes a PAST member and can laugh at us from the shore.
