Had a great time and already thinking about breaking our "no repeat" rule. But conditions showed I need to work on my low light, low viz, technique.

Fantastic photos :clapping:

I doubt there is any other place left on this planet with that much of any one species :amazed:

I hate you :bash:

:rofl3:

Thanks all. So we went spent two weeks on the Galapagos Sky the "old" Peter Hughes boat. In short, excellent boat and crew, can highly recommend them.

Diving: Not for the beginner. Should be comfortable with dealing with current, your gear, taking gear off in water and handing up to panga driver in 3ft chop.

Water Temps: Ran from 64f to 70f with some cooler thermoclines. Viz ranged from 30 to a hazy 50ft. I was very comfortable in my O'Neil 7mm J Suit, with gloves and 5mm booties. It was 70 degrees outside but with a stiff wind the whole trip so there was a lot of getting wetsuits off and running for hot showers.

Critters: You need to love sharks to go here, ok and maybe sea lions. We did see walls of hammer heads, in the hundreds if not more. On the first dive at Darwin we saw 5 whale sharks. Then none till week two, were we saw two, briefly. We had two dives 1st day and last day where there was great interaction with sea lions, in ones and twos. We saw several mantas but often off in the haze, only one or two close passes.

Cocos vs. Galapagos
We saw larger schools of hammerheads, more whale sharks and larger Galapagos sharks at Galapagos. But the hammerheads "seemed" more shy and did not get as many close in shots as Cocos. In addition you really only get about 10 dives in at Wolf and Darwin where at Cocos you get about +30 tries.

We will go back to the Galapagos in the next couple of years, might go closer to July/Aug when more whale sharks are present.

Ok more photos.
