I've recently returned from travelling for over a year. While travelling through Thailand I decided to give this SCUBA lark a go. Did my AOW and thought cool, must do this again. I travelled down the West coast of Oz and did a couple of dives (The Navy Pier in Exmouth & the HMAS Swan in Dunsbourough, which I highly recommend). Then, when travelling up the east coast I stumbled into a little place called Airlie Beach. Unpacked my rucksack and ended up staying for 6 months working towards my Divemaster. I worked aboard a fleet of ex racing maxi yachts (having never sailed before) and enjoyed every second of my time there, even though I didn't even get paid.
Now I'm back in Ireland, up to my neck in debt, but wouldn't change it for anything.
As soon as I've got some money together, I hope to head off somewhere cheap (Egypt?) and do my instructors. Just wanted to say hi. If anyone's got any recommendations on where/what to do next, I'd love to hear.

Glad to have you aboard. I can't make any recommendations but I look forward to reading your future post to hear more about your experiences.
