Less than 6 months old.

Used in an S90 set on RAW, monitor off in 30 seconds for power saving, internal flash set to 1/3 power to fire slave strobe, lens retract "off".

22 photos then a "change battery" message

Out of curiosity, is there a date of manufacture printed on the battery back?

(Although it may be moot if they just re-branded old batteries)

I'll have to look next time I borrow the camera :D.

It belongs to the Filipino dive instructor here. I got the battery for him when I was in the USA last April. It wasn't used that much.

Gotta find a good source for generic bats for the S90.

Know any?

If I find one, I'll let you know!

I'm always leary of off-brand batteries and the like... Never know where they came from, or how well they'll work... Lots of shady practices out there.

Probably boils down to you get what you pay for = the Canon battery.

I've been here ion Cozumel for the past week, 3 to 4 dives a day. I've got the Canon Battery, and a battery from Blue Nook dot com. It's a Japanese cell battery called "Wasabi", and it has far outperformed the Canon branded battery. They have a variety of mwh versions for even longer performance. I get 2 dives with the Canon battery, and 3 with the Wasabi, same voltage, spec's etc.
