i am taking my classes through school and we were going to have our OW the weekend after spring break. i was all bummed out because i have a conflict and was not going to be able to go due to spring training. but since we are going to be done with all of our pool work before the break i talked to my instructor about doing a referral for someone down in austin. so on the 14th and 15th i now get to do my OW instead of waiting until june. the lds i am using is tom's dive and swim so if anyone has any opinion on them im all ears. we will be heading to aquarena springs for the two days and im hoping maybe someone will want to go to travis with me the next day to do some more playing. im pumped!

I've booked charters with Tom's, but I've never had any experience with their instructors. I'm willing to bet they'll be good. Another good one in the Austin area is Mack at Oak Hills Scuba. Have a great time at Aquarena--it's a great place for OW dives (great vis and stable temps). I'm a volunteer science diver there, and will be helping with a project there on the 26th. Can't wait!

Red, be sure to check out the "Texas Swamp Diver" forum here on the board. Lots of friendly divers from all over Texas are there and we try our best to have dives and get-togethers often. Good luck with the cert dives and I'll be looking for you underwater!
