My darling wife bought me a 60mm AF-D lens for my birthday (my first underwater-worthy lens), and I have a function question that I hope someone can answer. Of course, I had to try it out before work this morning, so I twisted it onto the D300, set it for auto, turned off the focus lock, cranked it over to minimum aperture and set the camera for aperture priority. I dialed it full open, and it only went to f3.2. Flipped it off of auto and cranked it right over to f2.8, no problem. Is this normal, do I have a setting wrong, or does it have to go back to B & H?

Mine is f2.8 at 7+ feet, but drops all the way to f5 at 3 inches.

Yours sounds fine.

Thanks Chuck & Phil, sounds like just another quirk to get used to.
