Anyone have a housing for the 5D MK2?

Are you happy with it?

Looking for some real life experiences/opinions.

I have used the Subal which is amazing but very expensive. I have seen but not used the Aquatica which is also amazing and less money. Depends on what you value. The Ike is big and kind of ugly but very cheap compared to the competition. Sea and Sea is very nice a bit more $ than the Aquatica but less than the Subal I think. If I were going to house one today, I would go with the Aquatica. All of these housings are going to let you get good pics, at the end of the day it is all about how they handle.

I have the sea and sea. I dive with the camera about once a week and really like the housing. its less expensive than the subal, more expensive than the aquatica. You should really check one out and compare the ergonomics of the buttons/levers/controls yourself. I like the placement and availability of the sea and sea controls better than those of the others and in cold water diving the sea and sea is a little easier to use with big gloves or drygloves on.

Cheers... I was looking at the Ikelite... I don't mind big and ugly, as long as it's secure.

The new Aquatech... it's coming in quite cheap at $1800. But is only rated to 10m!


I think the Sea&Sea is out of my budget. Looks like a nice housing.

When I saw the press release it was selling for about $1400 in Japan, then when it came over here, it's retailing at like nearly $4k.

I am not sure where you think you saw the press release but the official Japanese press release quoted the housing (without ports) at 280,000 yen which at today's price is about $3100 or so. At B&H the housing is $3500 which is a 13% premium.
