5503.50 dome port

Hi,
Will this port work with the Tokina 10-17mm zoom lens? I know you recommend the 5503 dome, which I have, but I can buy a used 5503.50 at a low price and it would be useful to have a back-up, provided it would work.

It will work, but not recommended. The #5503 dome shade has to be removed when using the 10-17mm Tokina lens to eliminate vignetting at widest angle settings. The #5503.50 dome port is 1" longer than the #5503, so the vignetting issue will be worse. You may also get edge softness by moving the dome farther away from the lens nodal point. You can always try it, but probably not the best combination.
