Good to see lives saved. There are ALWAYS egos bruised in scuba diving when something goes wrong. Maybe if people checked their egos when they get certified scuba diving would be in better shape. The egos in diving are my pet peeve.

That said, Klein Curacao is on the windward side of the island and in some potentially pretty rough seas. I hope they had the brains to have safety sausages and noisemakers and signal mirrors with them.

I stood on the windward side of Bonaire once at the blow hole in Slagbaai Nat'l Park and was astonished at the 10-12 foot rollers that pounded the island continuously. That's typical for the kind of seas that these Klein Curacao divers would have encountered.
