Too bad the whole animal wasn't intact, but I am not surprised about them finding this animal off Monterey Bay. The Humbolt squid are now moving up to the Pacific Northwest now, so anything is now possible.

Interesting note...during the Gray Whale Migration season...transient killer whales lay in wait to ambush the Gray whales mothers and calfs in the bay. Infact the Pacific Northwest Killer Whales Pods are now migrating down to Monterey to feed off the salmon there.
