Hi folks. Several months ago I had posted questions on the board about depth of field challenges and sought suggestions as to how I might improve my underwater photography. The responses were great. I took those "thoughts" with me to Roatan earlier this month and played a little. While not where I want to be yet, I am pleased with the progress. I just wanted to express my appreciation to those who provided input and share the results.

Thanks again,

Fantastic images! A quick question about your shark images: Have you ever considered color correcting those images? The skin of many sharks provides a very good neutral reference -- i.e. they are essentially swimming graycards. The current issue of Photoshop User has a nice section by Taz Tally on color correction of shark photos. Might be worth a try.

Also, what housing/strobe equipment do you use with your 20D? (I also have a 20D and am looking to get some advice on that stuff).

I had not considered that but will certainly look into it.. I did not use a strobe on the shark dive so I got a predictable result.. Thanks for the heads up..

I use an Ikelite housing and Ikelite DS125 strobes. When doing macro, I use a single strobe.. Of course I also use the appropriate port for the lens being used.. I've never had an issue with the housing and I like the fact that I can see the seal and the camera. With the 20D there are so many places you have to look at settings, etc, the clear housing is nice. I have had some problems with the strobes, but Ikelite has been fantastic about resolving the problems. Their service is second to none in my mind..

Thanks again...
