I am a new diver, with only 8 logged dives including certification before this trip - and none outside of lakes. My husband, who has over 100 logged dives, had also never been in salt water. We were vacationing with my sister and brother-in-law, who are experienced divers with 500+ dives each. After talking to several dives shops, we chose West End Divers. They offered dives pro-rated by quantity ($30/each after first 3), covered boats with 8 divers max, and tanks for shore-diving if we opted for that.

We completed 9 boat dives during our trip, ending with a great wreck dive on El Aguila. Our DM, Mickey, was fantastic at noticing tiny snails, seahorses, pipefish, and tongues. He was attentive to my needs as a new diver, help with weights and bouyancy especially. The boat captain, Jose, and DM's in training, Tyler and Ted, were so helpful in getting gear on and off the boat. Ted and Tyler, as well as several other training DM's, were responsible for maintaining all of our gear - washing it with fresh water, drying, and storing the pieces.

This was an awesome first trip experience for me, as well as an unbelievable dive vacation for my sister and her husband. They even mentioned that this was the best boat dive experience they'd ever had. Kudos and applause to West End Divers! Thanks guys!
