Lance, my man!!! Sounds like you are hitting your stride as a diver, enjoying the freedom of "inner space." Wear the weights you need to be comfortable descending and in doing a safety stop at the end of the dive. Remember that every tank, aluminum or steel, weighs less at the end of a divethan at the start. Also remember that other things can affect weighting- water salinity, the exposure gear you wear, other equipment you may carry in the future- camera, line and spool, etc. and even variations in your own body mass. Ignore anyone who says you should use less weight (or more weight) who is not on scene diving with you. I have had it with casual divers who claim they only need a certain amount of weight, end up underweighted, fight it the whole dive which as a result causes them to burn through their air. They are a hazard in the water, and everyone or at least someone else besides them ends up having a much shorter than planned dive.
Stay active, stay safe, and enjoy every dive and learn from every dive!
