Hello friends,

Here is a question, maybe a dumb one but bugs me a lot!..

I've shot some footage with my new PD150 and these will be shown in a holiday village atrium. They have a VCD player and wanted me to supply the video in VCD or SVCD format.

My problem is that I finished editing and rendered the AVI file. Then have NERO convert it to VCD format. But I ended up with a 4:3 film squeezed from sides.

Any idea? What sw to use to convert and burn a vcd for 16:9 format?

Regards,
Yener

I'm pretty sure the VCD spec does not support 16x9. Their player *might* be able to stretch it, making it effectively anamorphic, but no guarantees. I suspect you will have to letterbox it in 4x3, and kiss a chunk of (already pretty low) vertical resolution good bye.

Check http://www.videohelp.com/vcd for more info than you can handle:

VCD 2.0: NTSC/NTSC Film

Video:
1150 kbit/sec MPEG-1
352 x 240 pixels
29,97 frames/second
23,976 frames/second NTSC Film

Thanx dude!... This helped me a lot...
