Hi,
I will have one day to dive in Guam in late October. Can anyone recommend who to dive with and where to dive? I was certified a year ago and have done about 25 dives.
Thanks for the help.

There are two dive shops with dive boats that speak English on Guam. MDA and GTDS and since you will be there only one day for diving you are at the mercy of where the dive boats are going for that day. But Blue Hole is a big dive spot for Guam. If you have time come to Saipan our water is much cleaner and better vis that Guam and we have the Blue Grotto the number two grotto dive in the world.
If you need other info send me a PM

As said on many other posts I highly recommend MDA (I haven't been on a GTDS boat so no comment either way.) MDA has a daily boat that will usually goes to either Blue Hole or the Crevice. both are good dives. If you are there on a Saturday or Sunday you can look at alternative sites they are going to. Check out MDA's website at

http://www.mdaguam.com/

They update the boat schedule every month. you can send them an email with any questions.

I dove with both GTDS and MDA. Both places are great. The Blue Hole, Gab Gab, The American Tanker, and the wrecks of the Tokai Maru and Cormoran(only place where WWI and II wrecks touch) are great dives. You are in for a treat diving in Guam.

Only going to Guam for 1 day? My guess is you are on a Westpac in the Navy. Don't worry, you'll pull in plenty of times. Let me know when you pull into Hawaii.

Hey Dale how are ya? Ill be back in Saipan Sept 25th, and hoping to dive Wing Beach as well as Grotto again. Just out of curiousity, what do the critics say the number 1 grotto dive is in the world? I cant imagine it being anything like Saipans Blue Grotto..... very hard to beat for those who have done it. Hope to meet up with ya at Oleais next month and do some diving!

Btw, how have the water current conditions been like since i left earlier this month?

Dive with a friend of mine who lives there, her name is Dianne Strong and she is a lovely lady. She'll show you the best diving that Guam has to offer, that's if she is free in Oct.
Send her an 'E' at <metgot@kuentos.guam.net> and say that Brian & Hilly send their best wishes from Down-Under.

BTW: She is an excellent diver with a great many dives logged Worldwide, so she'll probably be the best dive buddy you'll get during your stay.
