09/16 Great Escape Boat - Catalina Island

Hello All,

Anyone going out on the Great Escape to Catalina Island tomorrow?

My wife and I will be on this boat for the first time and was wondering if any of you will be on the boat too.

I hear that the kelp in the area is dwindling down due to the water temps being high - is that true?

I haven't noticed kelp dwindling, I'd be interested to hear what others have to say though.

Have a good trip tomorrow. No, I won't be attending.

i did the catalina boat dive a month ago! it was great! the water wasn't as cold as expected, so be sure not to overheat... i've never seen the kelp forrests before this, but i do hear that they come and go in cycles... it was so much fun! bring a good camera, too...
