Couples Swept Away Jamaica (CSA) January 2012 Report

We were there in Sept 2012, and can attest to how wonderful the experience is at CSA. Diving is not the best in the world, but the service and atmosphere definitely makes up for it... And if it means keeping the boss happy and diving with me, then I'll do my warm water diving there and keep a...

    Jamaica Diving--getting better?

My significant & I have been to Couples Swept Away, once 5 yrs ago, and getting ready to leave for there again mid-September. Hoping to see lots of sea life, big, small... But the big draw is the topside attractions/resort... Its an easy choice, one Jamaica trip every 5 years = yearly dive trips...

Octopus: Hand-off or let buddy reach for it?

I for one vote, donate the primary (g250v) on the long hose (7ft), and I'll keep my bungeed backup (S600). Best choice I have made in a long time, since I had to use it this past week diving. Partner (the lady boss) was having reg issues after we went through 2 lovely thermoclines, and then...

    Need recommendation for small boats

I have to toss out a second to either Opal's Dream/Scuba Mau or Dive with Alison... Having dove with both over our previous trips to the island, I have no complaints... The boss & I love the 6-pack boats, as well as Alison's luxury boat... Both companies offer personalized service, and lifetime...

Mr. Jeff, I've been in your shoes when it comes to buying 2 of everything... I shopped around all of our local shops, tried various brands on, eventually settling on buying SCUBAPRO gear from our local shop. We have since made some awesome friends at SCUBATOYs and spend our hard earned cash...

    Scuabamau diving accident

My "boss" and I have dove with ScubaMau, specifically Gabi, Monkey, and Opal, many many trips... Its a hard thing to swallow that our very dear friends are hurt so bad. Our last trip was at Carnival, and I got the pleasure of a big hug and kiss from Opal, before dancing in the street... Our...

Anything similar to the Knighthawk but cheaper?

I currently dive a SP Knighthawk. For those who talk bad about it, have you tried one? Not everyone thinks that a BP/W is the end all to diving... I for one like mine, the weight-integrated feature is nice, and SP has a positive lock system to minimize the risk of "accidental loss" of weights...

I am NOT going to ask how thick a wetsuit I need

79F on San Franicisco, 78F on Columbia Shallows... After 85 minutes bottom time, I finally got chilled... Wore my 3mm, which was just about perfect...

    Scuba Mau

In a clarification response to DMs/Captains out drinking: The Scuba Mau crew are great people, who are very safety conscious. The date in question was after a long week of wonderful diving with all of them, and we were all off the next day. We chose to take our friends out for a great dinner and...

Am in Coz now, had my Dive Op cancel due to lack of bookings

Not to be a cheerleader, but I know that many of the Dive Ops should be rated 4-5 stars in customer service... Although when it comes to Scuba Mau, I have to give 6 stars!! On my last visit, Opal sent my wife and I out, with our DM Gabby and a DM-in-training... We had a blast... The folks at...

    Nitrox to an OOA Diver?

As others have said, if and when the time comes, give them whatever they choose in the panic. My one and only experience with an OOA diver (not in our dive group) consisted of having my Safe Second nearly ripped from my BC.... Scared me dang near to death as the diver "attacked" from above...
