Hello. May I suggest a liveaboard that goes to Tubbataha Reef? You are in the Philippines during the dive season for that location. Being that it is remote, it is only accessible by liveaboard.
Hello all!
My husband and I have finally decided on a trip to Equador and the Galapagos for 3 weeks mid April to beginning of May 2020. We plan on spending two of those weeks in the Galapagos and splitting the time between Santa Cruz, Isabela, and San Cristóbal. If anyone has done land based...
If you’re flying into Manila, I would advise seeing if you can catch a flight directly to Coron and starting your trip there. That’s what we did in March 2018. We took our AOW with Reggae Divers in Coron who I recommend. Very affordable. If you do the AOW course, during your required “deep dive”...
Is Dumaguete and Southern Leyte just good for macro stuff or are there nice reefs to see as well? And in regards to Southern Leyte, are you referring specifically to Padre Burgos?
I don’t know about M/Y Resolute but I can say avoid M/Y Sakura. That’s the lob I used and I don’t recommend them. I wrote a trip report about my experience
I actually don’t like wrecks. We only dove in Coron to get our AOW lol. I prefer lots of healthy coral reefs and Coron sadly disappointed me. Tubbataha on the other hand was wonderful. I also wouldn’t mind one spot for macro but I would like a mixture of things to see.
Hello all! Looking for help with a 3 week diving itinerary in the Philippines starting mid March 2020. Hubby and I are AOW and have gone diving in Coron and Tubbataha. We would like to have a mix of topside activities and diving and were interested in Anilao, Puerto Galera, Malapascua, Bohol...
If you look at the itineraries for other liveaboards that dive Raja, it’s average. And many of the liveaboards that have an equal number of dives may not cover as much of Raja as Calico Jack. They may either do just North, Central or South or two out of the three areas. The farthest North we...
The cook who they sent to cooking school according to Julie varied the lunch and dinner dishes daily. Before the first dive, cereal was left out if you wanted it. After the first dive breakfast was served. Breakfast was usually crepes or pancakes and fresh baked bread, some type of eggs, and...
For our itinerary which was North Central and South Raja, it was 32 dives in total over 11 days. First day on board you spend at sea sailing South to Misool so no diving on day 1. Average 3-4 dives per day with the 4th dive being a night dive.
Hope you have an amazing time! Please say hello to Julie if she is your cruise director. She was fabulous. The whole crew was wonderful. Unfortunately, Raja Ampat is not known for having whale sharks. If you book the trip to Cenderawasih Bay that’s where you’d see the Whale Sharks. But if your...
Julie, the cruise director we had during our trip is actually French. She’s been the cruise director since the boat first launched. When she’s on vacation, one of the owners takes her place.
This is very helpful. Not interested in the Amazon but knowing you did both Machu Picchu & Galapagos during the same trip is helpful. What month did you go? Where were you able to drop your scuba gear? An airport locker? How long was your vacation & how much time did you spend in each area?
Hello fellow bubblers. Just wondering if anyone has ever done a Machu Picchu and paired it with a Galapagos diving trip? Looking to possibly go in September 2020. Was thinking of three weeks in total, starting in Machu Picchu then doing Galapagos so no worries with the altitude issue. Any...
