All great recommendations, thank you to all. I've been in touch with Sunn Odyssey on Grand Bahama. It looks like a nice and accomodating place to stay and dive. Airfare from nw Florida seems to be a hassle though. We are still looking for an economical way to get down there from here.

We are open to anything, even Florida diving. What kind of viz is down there scubadada? I think I'll post in the Florida section, great idea. We were thinking the close Bahamas but are open to just about anything that is clearwater diving.

Is the diving fair in PV? I dove there about 10 years ago with Chicos Dive shop. I don't remember them being good or bad, but I remember the vis being absolutely crappy. I think it was February, and the whales were still there, which meant lots of plankton... I should have known the vis was not...

We moved to Oahu a couple years ago. We took a trip over to Kona and did this night manta dive with Big Island Divers. I was a bit skeptical, I usually shy away from these "too touristy" things. I will tell you, I've been diving for quite a while - this was one of the best dives I've ever done...
