Diver dies in Queenscliff (VIC) Australia on Saturday morning...

Any reason why you’ve highlighted the only bad reviews, and ignored all of the rest, which are all 5 stars? (Apart from one guy complaining about the price)

Article: The Ultimate Guide to Sidemount Cylinder Trim

Any tips for resolving listing slightly to one side? I roll about 15-20 degrees to the right and then stop. I’ve rechecked that all measurements are symmetric on both sides, both on the harness and the tanks (Faber 10.5l steels). The tanks otherwise look like they’re behaving themselves. I’m...

Mark Powell - Deco for Divers

This book is now available in three different versions of eBook - Kobo, Nook and iBook. Sadly, still no kindle. It's been "in the works" since November last year.

    Atomic Aquatics Subframe rust

It came in an atomic aquatics box with appropriate labels - nothing to suggest it's not legit. It's been rinsed in fresh water after every dive without fail. I'll email DGX (where I purchased it from) and see what they say.

    Atomic Aquatics Subframe rust

I bought an Atomic Aquatics Subframe mask a couple of months ago. Within a couple of dives, the corners of the metal insert started showing some surface rust. Nothing major, just about 3mm of rust right in the corners. There is also some visible along the edges of the insert where it meets the...

Port for ED 7-14mm Pro on Oly housing?

Hi folks, I'm looking to pick up the ED 7-14mm Pro for my E-M5. I'm using the Olympus PT-EP08 housing, and I believe the correct Oly port for this lens is the PPO-E04. However, I've been told that it's no longer in production, and I'm struggling to find anywhere in Australia that still has...

Getting a neoprene drysuit over your hips

I have a neoprene drysuit too, and I have to dance like a drunk uncle at a wedding to get mine on sometimes. It's fine once it's on. Neoprene suits are usually much more "fitted" than trilams.

Academy of Scuba in Glen Iris stock them, if you want to try them on first.

question about slinging a stage bottle

I wouldn't advise that. Metal to metal connections are generally not a good idea - you can't cut them free in case of an emergency.

    Streamlining Console

Something like this - Aqua Dual Hose Holder with Swivel Clip would also do the job.

    P-valve question

I know a few women who have the Halcyon. There's a line in their product catalogue that says "Provides minimal backpressure, increasing comfort for female divers". Is there genuinely something special about the Halcyon valve, or has their marketing department just been quick to capitalise on...

You ordered your she-p, it arrived, now what?!

I'll be starting deco diving soon, so I'm going to invest in a She-P. Barry at Southern Cross divers has just become the Aussie distributor - Southern Cross Divers Calendar. I spoke to him at Oztek, and he's waiting to see if he can source the glue & wipes etc cheaper locally - if he can, it...

    CR123 batteries for torches

I ordered a bunch from these guys: http://www.torchworld.com.au/. I think I got a couple of dozen for around 30 bucks. Mine are CR123A, but I think it's the same thing.

Can I pack a reg set with my check-in bags?

I always put my contact info inside (business card works), but in all the travelling I've done (and it's a LOT!), I've never thought of putting the itinerary inside as well - that's a really useful tip. Thanks! One other tip is to take a photo of your suitcase. When the airline loses your...

If you are a new diver, please read this

I don't know if it's part of the standard curriculum, but there was certainly a lot of gas management taught in my (PADI) deep specialty. We were taught how to calculate SAC rate, and how to determine how long different tank sizes would last us at different depths. We also calculated the...

    wreckchick's Australian Odyssey!!

I found this on their website: Virgin Blue > Medical Conditions It says no flying within 24 hours, which sounds slightly more reasonable. BTW wreckchick, if you're into your wrecks you reeaally should come down and visit us in Melbourne - we've got a ships graveyard and a shipwreck coast ;)...

Samoa, Rarotonga, Cairns, Whangarei or Noumea and diving

I don't know anything about Samoa, Raritonga or Noumea, but if you've already done the liveaboard in Cairns twice, I'd do the Poor Knights. Were you intending to fly to Whangerei from Auckland? If so, it's probably not worth the hassle. It would probably take you less than three hours to...

    UW Ipod case

I came across this one a while ago Advanced Design Engineering - Dive Pod. The website isn't exactly polished, but it might be worth looking in to - i haven't done so myself. I don't see any price though - I hope it's not one of those "If you have to ask, you can't afford it" deals!
