    Equipment Question (noobie)

Careful. Some dive shops get pissy when you buy used stuff.

Quero, You really should get an objective third party to read the history for you. You're first post indicated that you were looking into it. I let it go for 5 days in which no one posted a single message to give us updates. Now you can get defensive and say you don't owe us updates...

Diving for Science Classes At Aquarena Center, Spring Lake San Marcos

A coin op compressor in a self storage facility near Lake Travis would be the best thing ever.... :) I guess I'm not meant to ever dive Spring Lake.

    Removing the HCT.

Kind of like the dive industry in general. You'd think people would learn that the rules are changing.

No, it was not outstanding support. The issue was ignored for 5 days and I had to follow up. Repeated direct questions were avoided and a snarky defensive answer was finally given. You can blame me and think you were outstanding all you want though. The only reason I'm taking it to FaceBook...

The other reasonable conclusion is that someone messed up and it was an accident and that they are now circling the wagon to protect the guilty. Pate and Howard both hate me so I'm sure they are just like... ahh, f* em, who cares. No harm done. But yes, the arrogance and rudeness shown is...

She didn't directly answer my questions either. I got the hint.... as always. I guess it's better then the alternative of them just deleting the question.

quallity of Hollis F1 fins....not amazing

I guess I should have knocked on wood. Shortly after posting this, one of my fins ripped down the side of the foot pocket. I posted a Q to Hollis but they didn't respond for 3 months. The fins have been sold to someone who lost a fin and I've moved on to Hog. I think they had a bad batch...

    Equipment Question (noobie)

There should be red alert going off in a divers mind any time a business brings out this argument. The dive shop merely wants to sell you expensive top of the line "high performance" equipment with intimidation and scare tactics. Scuba.com actually has a "Top 5 of the line regulators" with...

Scuba spearfishing allowed in the US?

In Texas, spearfishing is legal for "non game" fish with no reference to scuba or not scuba and a mention of "does not include crossbow". They go on to define game and non game fish but basically it means bass, walleye and so on are a no go and catfish and perch are allowed. I have nothing...

    Removing the HCT.

I would argue against that it's "free" or that we aren't owed anything. The user community provides content, hit counts and industry relevancy to the owner for the purpsoes or marketing and selling advertising. Don't underestimate how much SB needs us. Conversely I can find community and...

There's no need to go through such a formal process when all I have to do is click "Create Group" on Facebook. As an example, at the end of my BlackBeard's trip two weeks ago someone put an email sign up sheet out. A few days later an email went around. I created a FaceBook group and hit...

That seems to skip how groups went away in the first place. Was it on purpose? Was it an accident? Ah, just sweep under the rug because no one used it anyways.... The Dark Magic Divers group was created as a way to avoid a more formal process of requesting and approving a new group. It...

    HOG vs Zeagle...

Hog doesn't require you to be a tech diver to buy parts. Dealers are allowed to sell to anyone. Don't believe me? Here's a link: HOG Gear D1 First Stage Service Kit | Dive Right In Scuba - Plainfield, IL They do require a tech cert to take the actual class. That's better then requiring...

    HOG vs Zeagle...

I think you'd have to say Edge vs Zeagle. What points are you comparing on? Zeagle is a fine company with some good products but not really much I'd want to dive. For that reason, it's a slam dunk Hog for me.
