Observations after first trip with Perdix Ai

Just finished my first dive trip using the Perdix Ai. I've used a Petrel for about 2 years previously and logged over 300 dives on it. I made 16 dives using the Perdix with just shy of 39 hours logged. As you can probably guess, most dives were quite shallow. Here are a few observations: 1...

Weird Day of Diving with Petrels

I've had my Petrel for 8, going on 9 months now and logged 79 dives/91 hours on it. I had a couple of SAFT batteries left over from another piece of equipment and opted to use them up on both my and my wife's Petrels. Went diving yesterday and knowing I was at the limit of the SAFT battery...

Highland Giant Surface Marking Tube w/All-Mesh Sleeve - NEW

Bought this a year or so ago. Liked the thought of a large SMT and needed to replace my Carter (same length, but smaller diameter). Thought I'd like the fanny pack idea, but it did not work out as planned and opted to go another direction. This SMT has never been in the water. Bought new for...

Highland Tank Bands with Stainless Steel Cam Buckles (Pair)

Lightly used. Bought these with AL backplate and found the hardware to be too heavy for travel. Used a few times offshore in NC. Bought new for $40. Will sell for $25 + shipping.

    UTD/DIR/Hogarthian Harness System Kit

Bought this as a complete kit. Used a couple of the components and found I did not like the heft of the D-rings. Put the kit back together - only thing missing (that I know of) is a small bungee. Webbing has never been used. New ~$90. $65 + shipping.

ScubaPro Mk25 Yoke from your Yoke to DIN Conversion

Anyone out there have the yoke kit from changing your reg to DIN? I am interested in 2 yoke sets - must be complete - everything taken off the reg to convert it to DIN. I bought 2 DIN versions recently and find myself in a situation where I need to convert both to yoke for an upcoming family...

    D600 Housing/DS125 Strobes - Fires Once

Finally got my D600 in the water a couple of weeks ago. Set it up with one strobe and a single cord. Test fired on the boat before getting in and it fired. Would not fire once in the water. Did some basic troubleshooting back on the boat, but could not get it to fire. Wrote it off to a bad...

Aqua Lung Zuma Travel BC XL/XXL

Nearly new Aqua Lung Zuma Travel BC - $275. Purchased in March this year to try out - took on 2 trips (Turks & Caicos Explorer in May and Sea Dragon this past week). Really like nearly everything about it, especially the light packing weight. Only thing I do not like about it is the limited...

Miscellaneous BP/W Parts - Dive Rite Wings, Freedom Plate, Trans Pac

Dive Rite TransPac XXL - $150 Pretty sure I got all the parts back on it – except the patches on the epaulets. You can have those too, just don’t have any way to sew them back on. I had cannibalized the TransPac as I went through various iterations of BP/W set-ups. Finally settled on a...

    Unrealistic Deco Time

I had a recent experience with my Wisdom II that really concerns me. First, let me say that I screwed up. I should have been watching my time/depth more attentively and not gotten myself close to deco. My bad, no question. However, how does one go from just flipping into deco at 45' and wind...

DSLR Base Bracket - Mounting Bolts

Managed to get to Indonesia without the two mounting bolts for the tray. Have plenty of 1/4-20 spare bolts, but it turns out the housing is not threaded for 1/4-20. What thread size are the bolts so that I can either have someone pick up a in a hardware store (good luck finding inch threads!)...

    Bonaire Trip Report - 12/5 - 12/12, 2009

A bit behind, but figured a bit late was better than never. Long report, so attached a Word document. You may not want to wade through the daily details - scroll to the bottom for overall observations and comments on the trip. It had been 28 years since I last visited Bonaire - not...

TUSA Visualator Mask - Lens Breaking

I bought a Visualator sometime in 2006 as I recall. I had prescription lenses added through my local dive shop. At the end of the first trip with the new mask, I flipped it out of the way while packing to head home. The mask dropped no more than 3 inches - on carpet - and the lens shattered...

    Thanks for Quick Turnaround

Just wanted to say thanks for the quick turnaround on a DS51 with a flooded battery compartment. We got the strobe back in just over a week. A very pleasant surprise in the "No Charge" as I never expected a flooded battery compartment to be covered by warranty. Again, many thanks.
