    Why do divers eat seafood?

This thread is dangerously close to moving to the Pub. Keep politics out of it if you want to discuss the merits of spearing on Scuba (again) or why fish lookie-loos and spearos need to not be on the same boat (again), but scuba and spearing cut across political lines. Stupid posts and...

Trying to see if posts are working

You have to make 5 or 10 or something posts on introduction or someone else’s threads before you can post in classifieds. It gives you an opportunity to see what we’re about and us a chance to meet you.

“Duty of Care” when taking others on personal vessel, to dive

It also depends on how the other folks on the boat answer the question. "I'm pitching in for gas" creates far less interest than "The owner asked me for gas money".

Indeed he has, because sometimes that’s what the client desires. If you’re asking if our clients ever paid out, I don’t know 100%, but I believe the answer is no.

    Am I the dumb one?

Ah. In this lies the issue. I always add He first, and then the O2, and then blast in the air on top to get everything circulating nicely. I've missed the mix, not enough for a rebreather to care, but never waited for a mix to settle out. I would mix 8 444 cu ft at a time.

    Am I the dumb one?

I calculated roughly how much gas I have mixed. It came out to 50 million cubic feet. I must say I never "mixed" it, I let Dalton do it for me. It never failed.

    Am I the dumb one?

Hahahaha!! I've blended hundreds of thousands of cubic feet of gas. You are absolutely correct.

“Duty of Care” when taking others on personal vessel, to dive

I owned a multi million dollar dive op in South Florida for many many years. Not hypothetically, for reals. I filled anyone's O2 cylinder that came asking, as long as the cylinder was in hydro. Now I work for a lawyer defending dive shops against frivolous lawsuits. He has never lost a SCUBA...

You said they have the regulators and cylinders, one might draw the inference that they wouldn't crack an O2 valve rapidly. You almost sound like you believe O2 is flammable. Or dangerous. Or one needs some sort of qualifications either buy it or dispense it.

Why is this obvious? Did you expect a visit from the oxygen police?
