Most of the operators will do snorkel and diver trips. I usually dive with Silent World and have had snorkelers on board many times.

Going to be in PCB in July, looking for some diving opportunities. Been a couple years since I've been wet so looking for recreational diving limits, though I am certified advanced (for what that's worth). :) Will have everything but tanks with me. Ideas?

I'm in the Quad Cities. Our regular get wet between trips place is Haigh Quarry. About a 3 hour drive, similar to Pearl Lake. I like it, quarries are what they are, it's one of the better ones I've been to.

Wish i could figure out how to get from naples to the keys in 1 1/2 hours....the last 8 times i did it it took 2 1/2. But you are right...its worth the drive...1 1/2 or 2 1/2 hours.

Another + for silent world. Two recent trips with them. Capt Todd is a great addition to their team. Never seen anyone so focused on making sure his customers get the experience they want.

Not sure about your idea that you can go deaper than you are trained for with a guide....not an expert on cert rules....but IMO you should never dive beyond your training and experience because you are responsible for you, not a guide. My two cents...take it for what its worth. As for dive...

The best investment I made for colder water is a 5/3 hooded vest. I Slip that baby on under my 5mm wetsuit with 5mm socks and gloves and I am comfy down to about 50...I add my 3mm shorty as another layer and I'm good down to 40.

Depending on how far you are willing to drive, Haigh Quary or Lake Michigan operators out of Milwaukee or Chicago are within 4 hour drive as well.

I am interested in dives after July 4th (end of PONY baseball...from April to July 4th my life belongs to my son and 10 other 11 and 12 year olds). I am in Eastern Iowa and have two buddies that are both new divers as well. Haigh, Lake Michigan out of Chicagoland or WI would be in our range...

Interesting...I dove Mike's wreck on 11/26...word was not out to the dive captains yet...the captain on our boat specifically noted it had not been identified yet.

Thanks all.... Elena, I come every year at Thanksgiving. In-laws in Naples so I bring the family down then take a couple days to dive (and get away from the in-laws :) ) Last year was rough, but I got a couple trips in. Hoping for a little better this year, but if not...whatever....last...

Was there last weekend. Temps drop at 30 ft as been said but my comp said 58 in the hole at 85ft and 60 at 40. Vis was variable based on how many classes had churned an area up. Overall best quarry ive dove. Love the owners and facilities. Plenty to see if you pay attention. Great for new...

Big fan of Key Largo. Short boat rides, tons of ops, great reefs with lots of life, plus they are barrier reefs so even when the seas are rough, it's pretty calm. 35 ft average depths on most of dives so lots and lots of bottom time. Fly into Ft Lauderdale, get a car and drive down, hour...
