    There is a 90+% possibility it is the cord. You should be able to duplicate it by wiggling the cord near the ends.

    Older strobes had the number stamped on the black switch cover plate. The 1099 is an update code and not a serial #. The newer models have the serial # lasered in the battery area.

    You might want to do your homework a bit better. Ikelite has LED lights in the PC, PCa, PCm, and C8 models.
