    Dental question

Thanks Larry! you're the best! I had many fillings as a youngster (most of them are 15+ years old) and am getting ready to have a couple of new crowns done. Your explanation about the corrosion explains a lot. -K

    Dental question

Wow, I had no idea. What is this lifetime of a typical filling? If that is happening can you have those fillings replaced with another material? -K

    Back-up Mask

Why? To me it seems like it would be painful to get the hood on and uncomfortable to wear, not to mention inconvenient. -K

    Back-up Mask

I'm sure that my buddy would have stiches from laughing at me if I tried to put my hood on Over my mask. If your hood fits right then I don't think it would work. -K

Uncle Pug's Top Ten reasons for Horizontal Ascents.

I think I found your knife at NEah Bay this weekend UP. I found a Poseidon Master. The monster is nearly 12" long (blade = ~7"). I'd try to find a sheath for it but there would barely be enough room on my calf for it. Plus it's Pointy.... The thing is a hazard. (My buddy sure did behave for the...

    Finally had a training session!

Hi James, many people use wetsuits in the Puget Sound. I have a drysuit not because I was cold in a wetsuit, but because it's more convenient to get out of my suit and be dry. I could wear a wetsuit if I needed to for fit. -K

Is there any diving in Eastern Washington?

If you just want to get wet then Lake Cd'A would be ok. There's also Lake Pend Orielle (pronounced pon-der-ay). By neither are anything to get excited about. You should Go West Young Man and visit the puget sound. -K

Long Hair and A Dry Suit

I vote for the braid too. Though for comfort I only put the tie on the bottom. I don't like to have a knot or extra hair that gets bound under my hood. -K

Anyone in the Puget Sound need a buddy?

Welcome kbdiver! Let me know anytime you want to go! There are always club or shore dives going around here. I've organized a boat dive for Oct. 6th if you are interested. My next two weekends are booked up with "away" dives, but I should be available for diving in October. -K

    Dry suit woes

Hey MrMojo, keep it up. I'm sure that you will get a feel for managing the gas in your suit after a few more dives. Is this your own suit? -K

    Design your own OW class!

So here goes... I am speaking about skills in relation to the YMCA basic open water course. I think that it would be valuable to add a couple of "fun" dives with DM's or instructors to the end of the cert. These dives would give students the opportunity to practice their skills under...

    Design your own OW class!

Mike, I'm not arguing for agencies, but it's impossible for you to know what was included in my OW class and where I start adding or taking away unless I tell you what that class was. Maybe a reference to would help. http://diverlink.com/newdiver/agencycomparison.htm -K

    Design your own OW class!

To get more specific you might need to define what it is that you are adding or taking away from... There is a wide variety of requirements between agencies and even instructors within agencies. -K
