Port length for Nikon f/2.8 AF-S Macro

According to Hugyfot lens chart, Nikon 105mm AF-S lens require a 90mm flat port + en 20mm extension ring. However I already own the flat port and a 45mm extension ring. So I wonder if it will give any unforseen problems if the port is 25mm longer than neccesary?

    Nauticam viewfinder on Hugyfot

Hi Phil, thanks for info. Do you think there are any differnece between the two, with respect to how accurate an angle one have to look through the viewfinder to get a good view of the framing ? I'm farsighted, so I have to use diopter adjustment. I don't think the Inon have a diopter...

    Nauticam viewfinder on Hugyfot

Hi, I'm looking to add an external viewfinder to my Hugyfot D7000 housing. The inon is the one offered by hugyfot, but Nauticam's should be better, after what I read. (but also 50% more expensive) Does anyone know if the Nauticam can be mounted on a Hugyfot housing ? And perhaps someone have...

Pony setup: Octopus or not ?

you are probably right in some of your suspicions. I DO get distracted from keeping eye on my buddy, when photographing and yes, its NOT good diving behavior. In fact it's more to be considered as solo diving in situations, though mutually agreed behavior when we both are doing photo...

Pony setup: Octopus or not ?

The reasons for using the pony is for the added safety that an octopus can't provide. Specially when doing a lot of UW photo as I do. If your buddy is doing the same thing, it's easy to slip too long away from each other. My decission was reinforced last spring, when I had an experience with a...

Pony setup: Octopus or not ?

I'm using a 3Liter pony setup with 1st and 2nd stage. Beside that I have my main regulator with first and 2nd stage + octopus. As I would like to get rid of as much unneccesary stuff as possible, I'm considering if I need the octopus anymore. I'm able to supply air to my buddy in an emergency...

    Red filter for fokus light

I have a Fisheye LEDFIX48 focuslight for my uw camera setup. In order not to scare shy critters away, I would like to be able to use red focus light. Unfortunally fisheye don't make the redfilter for the LEDFIX48 anymore, so I thought about if I could make my own. Just, I'm not sure if I can use...

    Flooded my D7000 yesterday

Your flooding sounds like my worst nightmare!!. Would make me depressed for days:depressed: I hope you are able to recover it by the rinsing procedure described by Jax. For the same reason I've insured my uw camera gear to accidents like this. The insurrence cost me about 500 DKK yearly (roughly...

keeping strobe/light battery in good shape

Hi, I own a Fami super ledium torch. Battery is li-ion. The user guide advise to recharge the battery at least every 60 days if the torch is not used, to avoid over discharge and damage in the batteri. I have often forgot to turn it on at the end of the dive so the battery get fully...

Which macro lens: Tokina 100mm or Nikon 105mm VR

Which macro lens: Tokina 100mm or Nikon 105mm VR

Hi Scott, very interesting articles about tc! With a 1.4 TC and 60mm macro, are you then able to get 1:1 macro picture from a longer distance, than without the TC ? And if you move close, can you get a magnification greater the 1:1 ?

Which macro lens: Tokina 100mm or Nikon 105mm VR

Pascal at Hugyfot led my attention to a Dyron macro wet lens. Looks pretty interesting in combination with a 60mm macro. Dyron Dyron that could give even more versatility, to be able to remove / add the wet lens under water

Which macro lens: Tokina 100mm or Nikon 105mm VR

I gues you're right regarding the Sigma 17-70. It's a nice and flexible lens underwater, but macro capability is limited to 1:2.7 Here is a shot from sunday, very slightly cropped. The Dome was only about an inch from the fish...

Which macro lens: Tokina 100mm or Nikon 105mm VR

Starting to perhaps consider the 60mm Nikon instead of the 105mm, but at the same time I'm thinking that my Sigma 17-70 should be able to do much the same thing as the 60mm. any opinions ?
