    4/2/17 Service Club 930 am - late start from running the 5k at Sharky's Viz- was non existent. L literally could not see my hand in front of my face. Only reason I even tried today was because my son who just got certified wanted to go diving. Our total bottom time was 7 minutes.

    Dive at Service Beach. Entered the water at approximately 11 A.M. Did a 2 hour dive. The bottom was covered in heavy silt over 6 inches in areas. Viz was anything from 3 inches to 3 feet. Water temp was 86 degrees. Found several small teeth which I gave away to kids on the beach.

    08/03/16 entered the water at approximately 9am at the Service Beach. Water temp was 89 degrees and vix was 3-8 ft. Found a bunch of small teeth. Had more fun following the fish and exploring the small reefs out there.

    We just did a body recovery in gator infested waters. In fact only half of the gentlemen was still there. We had FWC and trapper's with crossbows standing on the bank while we entered the water and removed the body. The next day we dove the same waterway looking for the rest of the deceased...

    This class was very informational. We learned numerous things we are planning on incorporating into our Dive Team practices. Before you go make sure your in decent shape because the swimming skills section is hard.

    Scuba vs Alligators

    We post someone on shore with a long rifle when we dive in case of alligators. If a gator was seen in the area or shows sign of aggression we call a trapper before we even get into the water.

    We are spread throughout the County. For a call out our supervisors can deny our individual response due to low manpower.
