The only additional information I was able to find was from a guy who knew a guy who had it and saw him diving with it. He said it was good gear but it was many years ago so he couldn't remember if it was only front-inflate. In the pictures the hose goes to the back though, so I'd say it...
Here it is:
SWISSUB - Produits at the bottom of the page there is a GIF and a size chart.
Has anybody used this contraption?
I found a used one and I am really curious to try.
It seems like if one doesn't hook it up to the first stage, it could serve as a good back-up BC should the wing fail...
"(I'm assuming you're not using the weighted STA version?)"
Damn! I won't be using any version. I looked the weight up here:BC System Weighting | Halcyon
But I oversaw that 6lbs apply to the coated-weight!
It did seem a bit heavy for a bent piece of metal...
But I failed to look more closely...
Thanks!
1)The two holes of the Halcyon STA must align with the 1st and either the 4th or the 5th hole on the Mach V (top to bottom). Do you remember which?
2) When I was diving the Mach V with the SS BP and 3mm Bare, I was attaching 2lbs to the tank for weight. So it occurred to me that...
I see... Didn't occur to be that hole could be referred to as a "roll-control device".
Must be "the fancier the name the more one can chrage for it Harvard Business School special marketing technique".
To be concise: My rig is fine as is. I thought it might benefit from an STA now or at some...
I don't know about a "device". It says it has a "roll control", but I don't think I have any dedicated device. I guess the cambands keep the tank in place.
No Mach V does not require an STA. As I said:"I thought the STA might add to stability and/or in case I got another wing."
So, you think...
I have the bands that I am attaching tank&wing to the BP. I thought of using these to attach tank to the STA and put the Oxycheq between the BP and the STA. And I just realized the the holes on the Mach V have to fit the holes of the STA as well then.
BP+wing worked just fine without the STA...
Will this Halcyon STA:
HALCYON Single Tank Adapter with Nuts and Bolts. For Wing Systems Mint Condition | eBay
fit an OMS SS backplate?
I have the OMS BP and an Oxycheq Mach V wing and thought it could benefit from an STA and this seems like a good deal.
But would it fit?
(Only 3 hours left...
Thank you!
All the links said "We have 2 upper and 2 lower slots for your cam straps if you do not want to use a single tank adapter! "
So you answered my question and I went on bidding on the wing but was outbid in the last 3 seconds:cussing:...
I have an OMS SS BP with a simple DR harness and I am considering to get an EXD 27lbs wing.
Will I need an STA? I was diving Mach V without an STA but I am not sure if it would be different the EXD wing.

I am considering bidding on it today:

Not sure if it was here on Scubaboard that I read about 4 years ago about a regulator that was dived with something like daily and never serviced for 12 years. After 12 years he opened the second stage and it was full of algae and what not but still functioning. I am fairly confident that the...
Thanks OP and SteveAD! That is very useful info.
Ironically I just sold both of my Maximus. They were good regulators with the swivel, adjustable etc. but I just don't want to deal with Sherwood anymore.
Thanks! I am pretty sure there is no hole. I ordered 4x flanges + gaskets from DiveRite today. I couldn't get the tool but at least I know now what it would be for.
I will use silicon on threads.
You misunderstood me I am afraid. There is no source because there is no "data".
It is merely a matter of a phrasing. If you asses a risk: a 1% probability to sustain a level 10 injury on let's say 1-20 scale would be equal to a 10% probability of sustaining a level 1 injury on the same scale...
This is something I've thought about and "experimented" with. The value of my thoughts can be measured by my quite limited understanding of physiology of both decompression theory and human physiology in general and the "experiments" were unavoidable because I just love snorkeling for hours and...
