    Blackbeard's trip - Dec 10

I dove with a 3mm shortie layered with a 3/2 suit 2 weeks ago. It wasn't enough for me with 4-5 dives a day, and I had a hot tub to get into after the dive.

Bahamas Current water surface and bottom temps?

Here is my Dive Report from being on the Bahamas Aggressor for the week of Nov 26 to Dec 3 2016. I loved diving with Aggressor. They have a great operation there. Captain Dennis runs a good ship. I'm told she was the first and smallest in the fleet, but I thought is was the perfect size...

Bahamas Current water surface and bottom temps?

I'm looking for a site that can give me current surface AND bottom 60-90ft (20-30m) temps. I've found a bunch of sites that give just a generic water temp 79-81F (26-27C), but I'm guessing that is surface temps. I have no experience diving in Bahamas, so I don't know where to expect the...

    Nassau reef damage?

thebahamasweekly.com - Bahamas begins assessment of Tourism product post Hurricane Matthew This article shows promise for the area. Little damage to the islands and resorts. Nothing directly in the article about the reefs, but this does give me hope.

Wetsuit combination for Bahamas in November

I'd like some input to see if I can do a liveaboard dive week with what I have, or if I have to go out and purchase a new wetsuit. I've been reading some wildly different forecasts for water temp in Bahamas in the Nov/Dec window, anywhere from high 70's to as low as 69. I've read more than a few...

Sola 800 opens up night diving for me

I've been on a few (less than 10) night dives in my life, and I've not enjoyed these dives, because I've always had anxiety about the dark spots out of my sight. I've used spots of various powers, and I continued to not like night diving. Of course, I'm not a person to let this stop me. My...

For the fun of it. Who's your dive op?...

I just did a check, and it is about 30km from SCC to Columbia Reef. And that is into the current.

For the fun of it. Who's your dive op?...

+1 for Scuba Club Coz. I've been there 2 times now. You are less than 100 steps from the dock, the boats run pretty quick 50-60 minutes to Columbia reef. You do 2 tanks from the boat, with 55 to 65 minutes of bottom time depending on depth. Boats are super reliable in picking you up. You...

Has anybody here been to Scuba Club Cozumel?

I just returned from SCC. Stayed there Dec 7 to 18. The food there is reliable, tasty and generous. They offer restricted diet options and vegetation options too. My wife and I found that breakfast and lunch were a no brainer there as the meals coordinate with the dive boats. They offer a...

    Geezer wrist computer?

Best money I spent in a long time was for an Rx lenses in my mask. Don't be afraid about how bad your vision is, I'm diving lenses that are +4 with a -3 cylinder. You'd almost have to be blind to not be able to get perfect lenses now days. You'll have to hunt to find the right lens maker, but...

    First dive in Bonaire!

Be sure to check out the tarpon inside the cargo hold at Helma Hooker. I saw some of the most incredible sights just on the decent/ascent there. Love Bonaire!

Wife gave me a Legend LX for birthday gift.

What is more; she is a non-diver. I can't wait to get this in the water. 5 weeks and counting. I think my wife loves me.

Staying at SCC (Scuba Club Cozumel) Jun 25 to Jul 6. Wife doesn't dive.

Guys, The video was amazingly educational, and I did do the dive a couple of times so far. The folks here are great, guests and Staff! I've met some great people here, and this place just reinforces all that is good about diving. To make things even better, no phone, no TV. I love it here...

Article: Customizing Your Reg to Fit Your Diving Style

I just put a swivel on my 2nd stage, and it really improves my jaw comfort when I am looking around. My second stage stays very nicely in my mouth, and I don't need to bite down. Thanks for the suggestion.

With my dive count, I think solo diving is not recommended.

Staying at SCC (Scuba Club Cozumel) Jun 25 to Jul 6. Wife doesn't dive.

I'm staying at the SCC, and I am looking for a buddy or couple to meet up with for some shore dives. This will be my first time at SCC, and I am looking forward to the boat dives, but I am also looking at having a few shore dives with a buddy or small group. I am a PADI AOW with nitrox cert...

What was the right thing to do in this situation??

You did exactly what I would have done. You maintained control of the situation given the dive breifing. You didn't know the direction of the reef, so you didn't go. I've always held if you don't know the direction, you're just going to get more lost.
