    Guess the wreck 20/07

Dizzy, you are absolutely right! It's Caroline Rose. Last time I dove it I didn't see the ornament either. May be it was attached to the bow section and now cleaned and put aside. Cobaltbabe, this ship might be a sister of Bluenose - it was built at the same shipyard- Lunnenberg, Nova Scotia.

    Guess the wreck 20/07

No, it is a freshwater shipwreck, located in Ontario. It would be interesting to know where Bluenose lies. Nobody knows I think.

    Guess the wreck 20/07

Somebody (and I won't tell who) said: "money has this wreck written all over it". Who said that? And now what is the wreck?

    Guess the wreck 20/07

Hmm, I see - no takers. Was it too tough? This image will give you a better hint, but it is too easy.

    Guess the wreck 20/07

My try in making the riddles. I am sure it is a simple one. And the only one I can post so far - got my camera from repairs and tried it in the field.

    Morrison update

Ok, it is good that we were not very persistent - I would not want to go to the waste treatment plant outflow. As for the water - the visibility on the wreck was about 15 feet. A lot of fish (quite a big one) too. A lot of crayfish too. Quite agressive. :) We found the wheel - the...

    Morrison update

On last Saturday I had a chance to dive on J.C Morrison wreck in Barrie. I liked the conditions more than in winter. Definitely less tar in the water. It was a pretty rainy day, and half of the way to the wreck the water was clear as mud, butwe crossed that on the surface. It was interesting to...

    Niagara river diving

I've heard about interesting (?) dive in the upper Niagara River somewhere near Erie. There supposed to be a fort (Fort Erie?) there and there is a lot(?) of cannon balls on the bottom. Is this a true information? If yes, can you give any details on this diving spot - where to go, where to...

    San Andres trip

Just got back from San Andres Island (Colombia). Crazy time, beautiful place, good diving. There is a direct flight from Toronto (it was delayed but anyway it is convenient). The landing strip is short and starts/ends in the sea. I wonder what if the breaks are faulty or pilot misses landing...

    Location maps and coordinates thread?

Database is good. You said you can do that. Go ahead. Just check on the board - there were attempts to create such a database. The problem that somebody needs to maintain and update it. If it exists on your private site there is no guarantee that this site won't disappear next year. Scubaboard...

    Photo shops in Toronto

Question to GTA residents. Are there any special places that you can recommend where you buy film and develop pictures?

    Locations/maps/coordinates

Just pulled out the links I found following the link Flummox posted. Here they are. The Ghost Ships is really good - a lot of coordinates. http://www.ghost-ships.org/divedb.asp http://www.neptunescove.org/cgi-bin/wrecks.pl?area=SWLH

    Dive Master Training

DM course was probably my best course after may be the initial one. But it took me some time to change my psychology. As a part of the DM course I had to assist 3 OW checkouts. Doing that while everybody else (starting from the AOW students!) are going out on a boat to do the wreck diving was...

Scuba Bloopers in Books and Movies

It might be a tale but one fellow instructor told me about that. Full tank accidentally fell and the valve was knocked off. The tank went through couple of walls and stuck half way through a basement concrete wall. True or not true, but I would not want to be on its way.

    Morrison wreck

Thank you for the update Boogie. It is nice to hear a bit of information from the first hands. But I am sure many people would like to have an idea what ELSE is treated on that plant. ;)
